Operating Experience of Mitsubishi Pilot Paper Machine

To respond to the market needs of the increase of machine speed and improvement of the paper quality, paper machine supplier is demanded that it is going to develop the device that input with new technology and improve the machine performance. We decide the concept of the machine, after we conducted various element tests in the research division with part by part and confirm the concept on the pilot machine. With a paper making tests on the pilot machine engineer can consider the design that not only performance evaluation but also operator friendly equipment. Recently the dryer and reel were added to the pilot machine and the evaluation of the paper quality became possible at high speed. We executed the high-speed trial with the pilot machine from 1998 and started on the development of next high-speed paper machine. This paper reports about the outline of Mitsubishi pilot machine and the operating experience of the high-speed trial.
